TITLE: ADMISSION STANDARDS

PURPOSE

In order to support students to completion, 博天堂官方 establishes an admission process that guides students towards successful entry into the college and academic programs.

STATEMENT

Linn-Benton Community college is an open enrollment community college. All students whose goal is to earn a degree or certificate are encouraged to be admitted to the College. Students are eligible for admission if they are 18 years of age. Students under the age of 18 may be admitted with proof of completion of a secondary school curriculum.

Admission to 博天堂官方 provides a student with the following:

  1. Eligibility to receive federal and state financial aid (must also have completed an eligible secondary school curriculum);

  2. Priority registration;

  3. An assigned academic advisor;

  4. Opportunity to enroll in 6 or more credits in any given term.

To be admitted, a student must complete the admission process. The admission process includes an application, application fee, placement, and orientation. Student orientation consists of completing an online component and registration. All students admitted to 博天堂官方 with fewer than 24 prior college credits will be required to register for and satisfactorily complete a First Year Seminar (HD 120 or HD 121) in their first term.

Some instructional programs have special admissions standards and may be subject to strict application deadlines, pre-requisites, and procedures. For all programs, the college reserves the right to give higher priority to the admission of district residents.

International students on F-1 or M-1 visas must meet additional admission requirements regarding visa eligibility, including but not limited to English language proficiency and sufficient financial resources.

Students enrolling in non-credit courses or taking 1-5 credits are not required to be admitted to 博天堂官方. Students register for desired classes during the designated Open Registration period. For credit courses, students will be required to take the appropriate placement tests or meet required prerequisites for some classes. Students who are not admitted are not eligible for financial aid, priority registration, and are not assigned an academic advisor.
